Assistant/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Clinical Psychology

About the role

The University of the South Pacific is seeking qualified academics to join its Psychology department as Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology. The position is based at the Laucala Campus in Suva and involves teaching, research and supervision of both undergraduate and postgraduate students across the Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update course curricula and teaching materials for clinical psychology programmes.
• Deliver high‑quality lectures, seminars and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts.
• Supervise research projects and clinical placements, ensuring rigorous academic standards.
• Create postgraduate training resources and assessment tools.
• Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with government agencies, NGOs and development partners.
• Contribute to the department’s research agenda and publish scholarly work.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree (Masters) in a relevant discipline for the Assistant Lecturer level.
• PhD in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field for Lecturer and Senior Lecturer levels.
• Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, curriculum design and research supervision.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse student groups across the Pacific.
