Stewarding Guest Service Assistant

About the role

As a Stewarding Guest Service Assistant you will ensure the cleanliness and readiness of all kitchen, dining and service areas in a busy resort environment. You will support the Food & Beverage team by maintaining equipment, handling dishware and managing waste in accordance with Marriott’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and store kitchen tools, knives, silverware and other wares using the 3‑compartment sink and appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock and ensure clean wares are placed in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, stack and re‑wash items that do not meet quality standards.
• Break down and empty bus tubs, manage trashcans, dumpsters and recycling, and dispose of glass safely.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas, including tables and surfaces.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any maintenance needs or incidents.
• Communicate professionally with team members and support a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Fiji citizenship.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar resort or hospitality environment.
• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk and bend for extended periods.
• No supervisory experience required.
