Commis 3 – Part‑Time Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis 3 position supports the kitchen team at Marriott International in Nadi, Fiji. This part‑time role focuses on preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and conduct temperature checks.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Prepare cold foods and assemble dishes for service.
• Set up and break down work stations, and ensure proper sanitation of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Monitor food quality throughout preparation and report any issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Willingness to follow company safety, security and hygiene policies.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation and portioning.
