Commis Chef – Hotel Kitchen Team

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the culinary team at Radisson Blu Resort in Fiji. This entry‑level position offers the chance to develop your cooking skills in a dynamic hotel environment while delivering high‑quality dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards.
• Support daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, set‑up for restaurant service, banquets, room service, and special events.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well‑stocked workstations, coolers, and storage areas.
• Help with food requisitions, stock control, and waste minimisation to meet cost and productivity targets.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and hotel policies.

Required profile

• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not mandatory; a culinary qualification is an advantage.
• Hands‑on, can‑do attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to scheduled shifts and teamwork.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering consistently high standards.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work effectively under pressure.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Required skills

• Basic food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of portion control and recipe adherence.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
