About the role
The Communications and Digital Engagement Officer will create and manage high‑quality digital content, graphics, video and website updates for the Pacific Humanitarian Warehousing Program. Reporting to the Communications Advisor, the role supports programme communication priorities in line with SPC and GEM standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute an annual digital communications plan covering social media, web and digital knowledge products.
- Produce short‑form videos, written content and graphics for diverse audiences while maintaining brand consistency.
- Provide communications guidance and hands‑on training to programme staff on photography, video and digital content creation.
- Plan and coordinate logistics, design materials and manage vendors for events, workshops and ministerial meetings.
- Contribute digital assets and editorial support to GEM‑wide communication channels and ensure proper archiving.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, digital media, marketing, international development or equivalent experience.
- 4–5 years of progressive experience in digital communications, social media management and event coordination, preferably in development or humanitarian settings.
- Excellent English written and spoken skills; working knowledge of French is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage a demanding workload and travel to Pacific member countries under challenging conditions.

What we offer
- Band 8 salary range of 2,146–2,683 SDR per month (approximately FJD 6,632–8,290).
- Housing allowance of FJD 1,500–5,200 per month for expatriate staff.
- Establishment and repatriation grant, removal expenses, airfares and home‑leave travel.
- Three‑year fixed‑term contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.
