About the role
The Partnerships Officer will support Partnership Specialists and senior management in deepening collaboration with key stakeholders, providing environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilisation and policy influence to raise UNICEF’s visibility and impact.
Key responsibilities
- Donor reporting: coordinate narrative and financial donor reports, maintain reporting trackers, consolidate inputs, ensure compliance and support clearance and submission processes.
- Contribution and grant management: support grant creation, amendments and no‑cost extensions, ensure timely payment requests, fulfil visibility and closure requirements, and coordinate follow‑up.
- Funding pipeline and resource mobilisation: track funding opportunities, pipeline status, income trends and gaps, and prepare analyses to support donor engagement and programme planning.
- Donor intelligence and partner mapping: research current and potential partners, maintain mapping tools and profiles, and identify alignment with UNICEF Pacific programme and funding priorities.
- Donor and partner engagement: assist with correspondence, information requests, meeting coordination and follow‑up actions.
- Partner visibility and communications: develop stories and visibility materials showcasing partner‑supported results and ensure compliance with donor recognition requirements.
- Knowledge management: maintain organised records of donor reports, agreements, partner profiles, funding data and engagement materials.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, International Development, International Relations, Public Affairs or related field.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in programme management, partnership management, resource mobilisation, external relations or related areas.
- Fluency in English.
Required skills
- Strong communication, networking and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with governments, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of international development issues, programming policies and procedures.
- Research, analytical and policy analysis capabilities.
- Experience supporting resource mobilisation and external relations initiatives.
- Ability to monitor and analyse political, social and development trends.
- Negotiation skills for strategy and partnership formulation.
