Special & Inclusive Education (SIE) Technical Officer

About the role

The Special & Inclusive Education (SIE) Technical Officer will support the Australia Fiji Education Program (AFEP) within the Fiji Program Support Platform (FPSP). Based in Suva, the officer will work on delivering inclusive education outcomes and integrating gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) across the programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, implementation and monitoring of SIE activities under AFEP.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Education and other government agencies to ensure alignment with national policies.
• Collect, analyse and report data on literacy, numeracy and inclusion indicators.
• Support strategic planning, partnership management and knowledge‑sharing across the Platform.
• Promote GEDSI principles in all education interventions and ensure compliance with DFAT guidelines.

Required profile

• Fijian national (reserved for national applicants only).
• Relevant qualification in education, special education or inclusive education.
• Experience in programme implementation within the education sector.
• Understanding of gender equality, disability and social inclusion frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government and development partners.
