Year 11 English Curriculum Advisor (Remote, 60 days)

About the role

The Revised Secondary English Curriculum (RSEC) Advisor for Year 11 will support Fiji’s Ministry of Education and the Australia Fiji Education Program in designing a comprehensive Year 11 English curriculum package. The role is remote‑based with occasional travel to Suva and spans 60 working days.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing RSEC Year 9 and Year 10 English frameworks, identify successes and gaps, and feed findings back into ongoing support for those years.
• Analyse current Year 11‑13 curriculum frameworks, pedagogy and materials to map progression pathways and competency gaps.
• Develop a Year 11 English Curriculum Framework that aligns with national standards, includes learning outcomes, unit structure and pedagogical principles, and ensures vertical progression.
• Create comprehensive teacher guides, scaffolded lesson plans, and inclusive teaching methodologies that reflect RSEC pedagogy.
• Produce student‑facing learning materials such as reading texts, writing activities, grammar exercises and critical‑thinking prompts.
• Design standardized lesson‑planning templates with clear objectives, time allocations, activities and assessment checkpoints.
• Build an assessment system—including formative tools, summative tasks, rubrics and marking schemes—aligned with national examination expectations.
• Participate in stakeholder consultations with teachers, school leaders and training institutions to validate and refine outputs.
• Ensure all deliverables promote gender equity, disability inclusion, and incorporate climate‑disaster resilience considerations.
