Assistant Front Office Manager

About the role

The Assistant Front Office Manager supports the Front Office Manager in leading the Front Office department of a Marriott hotel on Denarau Island North, Fiji. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences, smooth check‑in and check‑out processes, operational excellence, employee engagement, and achievement of financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily management of Front Desk, Guest Services, Bell Services, Door Staff and Switchboard operations.
• Supervise shift teams, ensure compliance with Marriott policies, procedures and brand standards.
• Review staffing levels and schedules to meet service, operational and financial objectives.
• Monitor departmental performance, take corrective actions and drive operational targets.
• Perform Front Desk duties and oversee shifts as needed, assuming full responsibility in the manager’s absence.
• Maintain brand standards through regular process reviews and guest service programs.
• Prepare the department for audits, quality reviews and brand compliance assessments.
• Support financial goals by managing inventory, same‑day selling, upselling initiatives and occupancy monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel front office operations and team leadership.
• Strong knowledge of Marriott brand standards and hospitality best practices.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and guest‑service orientation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and develop staff while meeting operational and financial targets.
