Assistant Manager Engineering – Guestroom Services

About the role

The Assistant Manager Engineering – Guestroom Services oversees the maintenance, functionality and appearance of all guest rooms and related areas at a hotel on Denarau Island. The role ensures that guestroom assets, fixtures, equipment and systems meet the highest standards of safety, comfort and brand quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing engineering and maintenance activities for guest rooms, corridors and guest floors.
• Respond promptly to guestroom maintenance requests and ensure work is completed to established standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance, safety and quality issues.
• Oversee preventive‑maintenance programs for fixtures, fittings, furniture, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, doors, windows and decorative finishes.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance to minimise impact on guests and hotel operations.
• Monitor work orders, prioritize tasks and maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections and maintenance history.
• Manage inventories of spare parts, tools and supplies and support budgeting and cost control.
• Provide daily supervision, scheduling and performance monitoring for engineering associates.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Office to resolve guest concerns quickly.

Required profile

• Experience supervising engineering or maintenance teams in a hospitality environment.
• Strong organisational skills for scheduling, work‑order prioritisation and inventory control.
• Ability to work closely with Housekeeping, Front Office and other operational departments.
• Commitment to delivering guest‑focused service and maintaining brand standards.
