Communications Officer (Digital & Multimedia)

About the role

The Communications Officer (Digital & Multimedia) will support UNICEF’s advocacy and outreach in the Pacific region, focusing on digital platforms and multimedia storytelling. Based in Suva on UN premises, the officer will work under the Digital Communication Officer to produce engaging content that highlights children’s rights and UNICEF’s programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, producing and publishing digital communication products for the UNICEF Pacific website, social media channels and promotional campaigns.
• Support donor visibility by coordinating content planning, production timelines and monitoring compliance across digital platforms.
• Develop and maintain tools and schedules to ensure donor visibility requirements are met.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date list of social media influencers, bloggers and advocates for message amplification.
• Support youth engagement initiatives and online participation activities aligned with advocacy strategies.
• Create simple multimedia products (reels, short videos, photo stories, graphics, presentation assets) using existing b‑roll, photos and approved story material.
• Photograph and video events, field activities and programme moments for timely social media coverage and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Communication Section and programme teams to identify, plan and deliver story ideas that illustrate children’s situations and UNICEF‑supported results.

Required profile

• Full‑time assignment of 12 months (with possible extension) located in Suva, Fiji on UN premises.
• Works under the direct supervision of the Digital Communication Officer within the Communication Section.
• Volunteer Specialist (UCoS) category starting April 2026.
• Demonstrated ability to produce digital and multimedia content for advocacy and donor visibility.
• Experience collaborating with programme teams and external partners such as media and influencers.
