Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager will oversee day‑to‑day financial operations for the Pacific Australia Skills program in Suva, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial administration and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payments, payroll, accounts payable, petty cash, acquittals and bank reconciliations, monitoring expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
• Administer financial systems (MYOB/BST), maintain records in line with DFAT and DT Global requirements, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Support budget development, forecasting and re‑forecasting, and provide financial inputs for operational and progress reports.
• Oversee subcontractor invoicing, payment processing and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Apply financial controls, support audits, implement fraud‑prevention measures and supervise finance staff at regional and country levels.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting with current CPA status.
• Experience managing DFAT‑funded financial operations or international development programmes.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities, with ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Demonstrated commitment to GEDSI, PSEAH and other DFAT safeguarding policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MYOB or similar ERP financial management systems.
• Expertise in accounts payable, payroll processing, budgeting and financial controls.
