Licensed Electrical Technician

About the role

The Licensed Electrical Technician ensures all electrical assets across the hotel operate safely, efficiently and in line with company standards. The role supports the Engineering Department by maintaining guest comfort, operational continuity and a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems, switchboards, transformers, generators, lighting and power outlets throughout guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house and exterior spaces.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, equipment failures and power distribution issues, performing preventive maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Monitor and service emergency lighting, backup power systems and standby generators, and support refurbishment or renovation projects.
• Respond promptly to work orders, manage inventory of spare parts and tools, and keep accurate maintenance and compliance records.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimise disruption to hotel operations and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Follow all safety, security and regulatory procedures, using appropriate PPE and safe work practices.

Required profile

• Valid electrical licence or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in commercial/hotel electrical installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed procedures and document work accurately.
• Strong commitment to safety and guest service.
