Loss Prevention Officer

About the role

The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for safeguarding the property, guests, and employees by patrolling all areas, monitoring security systems, and responding promptly to incidents. This part‑time role combines active security duties with guest assistance and emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol the entire property and assist guests with room access.
• Monitor CCTV, perimeter alarm, duress alarms, and fire‑life safety systems.
• Lock property entrances when required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
• Respond to accidents, provide first aid/CPR, and contact EMS as needed.
• Assist guests and employees during emergencies and notify appropriate personnel.
• Defuse disturbances, call for outside assistance when necessary, and escort unwelcome persons.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily shift summaries.
• Handle interruptions, complaints, and resolve safety‑hazard situations.
• Report vehicle accidents, thefts, and other security incidents.
• Maintain confidentiality of all security and loss‑prevention documentation.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.

Required profile

• Non‑management position with ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb unaided and heavier items with assistance.
• Clear, professional communication skills and a clean, professional appearance.
• Ability to read and verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to company policies.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
