Mechanical Gas Technician – Hotel Engineering

About the role

The Mechanical Gas Technician ensures the safe installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of LPG and gas‑powered equipment across the hotel property, supporting uninterrupted guest services and compliance with all regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain and repair LPG and gas distribution systems, including pipelines, valves, regulators and meters.
• Diagnose and fix gas leaks, equipment faults and mechanical failures in kitchen, laundry and engineering equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and support refurbishment, renovation and engineering projects.
• Respond promptly to work orders, manage inventory of spare parts and tools, and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimise disruption to hotel operations and maintain clean work areas.
• Conduct safety checks, leak detection testing and ensure compliance with gas regulations and company safety policies.

Required profile

• Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Gas Fitting or Plumbing.
• Relevant experience in installation, maintenance and repair of gas‑powered systems.
• Ability to work safely with LPG, follow safety procedures and maintain documentation.
