Multimedia Communications Coordinator - Fiji Program Support Platform

About the role

The Fiji Program Support Platform (FPSP), a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade investment, is recruiting a Multimedia Communications Coordinator based in Suva, Fiji. The role plans and produces photography, video, graphic design and digital content across the FPSP portfolio, working under the Communications & Public Diplomacy Manager. It is a locally engaged position starting January 2027, on a 1-year contract with a possible 2-year extension, reserved for Fiji nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for digital content and visual storytelling with sector teams and communications focal points
• Create infographics, social media assets, brochures, reports and presentations with Adobe Creative Suite or similar software
• Capture and edit high-quality photography and video for events, field visits and public diplomacy, keeping DFAT branding consistent
• Support the Communications and Public Diplomacy strategy and public diplomacy activities, and maintain a tagged, stored media archive with usage rights
• Take part in capacity-building and team learning, and carry out other communications duties requested by the manager

Required profile

• Diploma or higher qualification in Multimedia Production, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications or a related field, with 5 years of relevant experience or 8-10 years of professional experience with a strong portfolio
• Ability to plan and deliver video, photography and graphic design assignments independently
• Willingness to travel within Fiji, including to maritime and rural locations

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent software
• Filming, photography, interviewing, audio recording, lighting and video editing
• Safe drone operation with relevant permissions
• Short-form video, subtitles and accessible visual content for social media
