About the role

UNCDF is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution of the Pacific I2I project, a flagship initiative aimed at strengthening ocean health and fostering sustainable blue economies across 14 Pacific Island Countries. Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Financing for Plastics and Circular Economy, the role will ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of project results in line with UNEP/GEF requirements and UNCDF policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day management and execution of the Pacific I2I project, ensuring delivery of agreed outputs and results.
• Prepare and coordinate annual workplans, budgets, implementation schedules and procurement plans.
• Coordinate implementation across project components, participating countries, technical specialists, consultants, service providers and partners.
• Serve as the principal operational focal point for UNEP and liaise closely with governments, SPREP, ADB, UNCDF teams and other regional and national partners.
• Identify implementation bottlenecks, risks and emerging issues and coordinate timely mitigation actions.
• Coordinate technical inputs for sustainable blue‑economy strategies, financing mechanisms and investment development.
• Support participating countries in translating blue‑economy priorities into concrete, investable projects.
