Senior Officer - Payroll & Operations

About the role

As a Senior Officer in Payroll & Operations within ANZ's Talent & Culture Pacific team, you will ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll and HR operational services across the Pacific region. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support payroll initiatives, governance, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing and T&C (HR) operations, supporting various payroll projects.
• Provide expert advice on payroll and HR operational matters to stakeholders in assigned Pacific countries.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, policies, and governance requirements to mitigate exposure and prevent errors or fraud.
• Assist the T&C Team Leader with the implementation of Group and Pacific initiatives.
• Drive and continuously improve governance processes.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience with strong industry best‑practice knowledge.
• Excellent understanding of payroll processing, tax and superannuation requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to identify risks and corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, adapt to changing business demands, and collaborate with diverse teams.
