Licensed Customs Agent

About the role

Neptune Pacific is seeking a Licensed Customs Agent to work from its Nadi office. The role involves managing the clearance of imported goods, ensuring correct tariff classification, and acting as the liaison between importers, shipping lines, and Fiji Customs Service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify import documents such as Bill of Lading, supplier invoices, payment evidence, C45 and concession letters.
• Prepare and submit entry papers to Fiji Customs Service and other government agencies (Biosecurity, Ministry of Health).
• Calculate duty values, determine proper classifications, and manage disbursement approvals based on client payment terms (COD, on account, upfront).
• Lodge documents for customs approval, arrange payment once duty & valuation are confirmed, and coordinate storage or bonded premises if clearance is delayed.
• Assist with export and transshipment entry registration, conduct client site examinations when needed, and support other departments as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business, Customs or higher education in Customs.
• Valid Group 2 driver’s licence.
• Relevant experience in customs clearance, shipping, or logistics operations.
• Strong attention to detail, high integrity and proactive teamwork.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using customs software such as CargoWise, Peachtree or Logisys.
• Ability to prepare customs import/export and drawback entries.
