Licensed Customs Agent

About the role

The Licensed Customs Agent will work from our Nadi office, handling clearance of imported goods, tariff classification and customs payments. Reporting to the Imports Manager, you will act as the key liaison between importers, shipping lines and Fiji Customs Service.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and prepare documentation such as Bill of Lading, invoices, payment evidence and concession letters for customs clearance.
• Compile and lodge entry papers in line with Fiji Customs Service regulations and related agencies (Biosecurity, Ministry of Health).
• Calculate duty values, classify commodities correctly and manage disbursement approvals based on client trading terms.
• Arrange payment after customs approval, provide storage or bond facilities, and coordinate delivery with the Transport Department.
• Prepare appeal documents for duty charges, produce weekly clearance summaries and support export/transshipment entries as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma in Business Customs or higher education in Customs.
• Valid Group 2 driver’s licence.
• Relevant experience in customs clearance and logistics operations.
• High integrity, attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CargoWise, Peachtree or Logisys software.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
