Mandarin‑Speaking Duty Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Mandarin‑Speaking Duty Manager oversees hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional service for all guests with a particular focus on Mandarin‑speaking visitors. This full‑time position acts as the primary point of contact for guests and associates, driving operational efficiency, safety, and brand standards across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and other departments during the shift.
• Conduct regular property inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety and service quality.
• Prepare and distribute Daily Manager on Duty (MOD) reports to all departments.
• Lead, coach and motivate associates, fostering teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Serve as the main liaison for guest concerns, especially for Mandarin‑speaking guests, handling complaints and service recovery.
• Record guest issues in the response system and follow up on resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, safety and security procedures.
• Support HR functions such as incident investigations and employee relations when needed.

Required profile

• Fluent Mandarin (spoken and written) with strong English communication skills.
• Proven experience in hotel or hospitality operations management.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions and resolve guest issues effectively.
