Project Officer – Transport & Connectivity (Group I)

About the role

The EU Delegation to the Pacific in Suva seeks a Project Officer to support transport, digital connectivity and infrastructure initiatives across the Pacific region. The role combines project management, policy analysis and stakeholder coordination under the supervision of the Head of Regional Partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Support identification, formulation, implementation and follow‑up of transport, digital connectivity and infrastructure projects.
• Manage the full project cycle – planning, monitoring, reporting and closure – in line with EU procedures.
• Assist financial and contractual management, including contract follow‑up, payment checks and procurement processes.
• Monitor sectoral developments, conduct policy analysis and contribute to dialogue with partner countries and regional organisations.
• Coordinate with multilateral financial institutions, donors and partners, tracking financing opportunities and co‑financing possibilities.
• Represent the Delegation in meetings, workshops and regional forums and prepare briefing materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, business administration, economics, international development, political science, international relations or related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in project management, aid management or international cooperation.
• Working knowledge of English (C1) and right to work in Fiji.
• Clean police record and medical fitness.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office software and digital collaboration tools.
• Knowledge of French (asset).
• Familiarity with AI tools and technologies (asset).
