Senior Accountant

About the role

Tourism Fiji is looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to oversee all accounting functions across its global offices. The role provides accurate financial information to senior management and ensures compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements for all Tourism Fiji offices worldwide.
• Complete and review year‑end trial balance, general ledger, balance sheet and profit & loss reconciliations.
• Maintain and review the Fixed Asset Register for Fiji and international locations.
• Support the Financial Controller and CFO with audit and financial reporting requirements.
• Review and verify quarterly reports before submission.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all offices and resolve variances promptly.
• Review, reconcile and verify GST and VAT claims for Fiji and international operations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with budget comparisons and variance analysis.
• Review and prepare monthly Board reports.
• Process foreign currency transactions, applying correct exchange rates and accounting for FX gains/losses.
• Supervise and review the work of the Accounts team.
• Maintain records of contracts, insurance policies, tenancy agreements and tax lodgements.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in tourism, events or marketing.
• Strong knowledge of Fiji tax laws and regulations in the regions where Tourism Fiji operates.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work occasional after‑hours or weekends as required.

Required skills

• Business Central software (preferred).
• Microsoft Office Suite.
