SGP National Coordinator (UNDP Pacific)

About the role

The Small Grants Programme (SGP) National Coordinator will be based in the UNDP Fiji office and will oversee the implementation of the GEF‑funded Small Grants Programme across Fiji. Reporting matrix‑wise to the Resident Representative (or Deputy Resident Representative) and the SGP Regional Programme Specialist, the incumbent will supervise the SGP Programme Associate/Assistant and coordinate the National Steering Committee.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach the SGP Country Programme Associate/Assistant, fostering teamwork with the National Steering Committee and UNDP country office.
• Develop and implement the annual work plan, set delivery and co‑financing targets, and prepare the programme’s administrative and operational budget.
• Manage grant allocations and the country operating budget, ensuring compliance with SGP Standard Operating Procedures and UNOPS regulations.
• Monitor the portfolio of project ideas, conduct field visits, and provide technical and operational support to grantees.
• Organise stakeholder workshops and project development sessions for civil society and community‑based organisations, guiding them to align proposals with SGP strategic initiatives.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of national environmental priorities and socio‑economic trends to inform programme strategy.
