Steward Guest Service Attendant

About the role

The Steward Guest Service Attendant ensures the cleanliness and functionality of all kitchen, dining, and service areas at our Westin resort on Denarau Island. You will operate washing equipment, manage stock, and support the food‑and‑beverage team in delivering a safe, hygienic environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect, and sanitize kitchen surfaces, tools, knives, tables, and equipment using appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock, and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; re‑scrub items that do not meet standards.
• Rinse and spray racked items with hot water, sort and re‑wash silverware, and break down dirty bus tubs.
• Empty and maintain trashcans, dumpsters, and recycling bins; dispose of glass and cardboard properly.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas and report maintenance or safety issues.

Required profile

• Minimum Year 12 education (secondary school level).
• Basic English communication skills for following instructions.
• Good physical fitness for prolonged standing, lifting (≤ 50 lb), and repetitive movements.
• Eligibility to work in Fiji.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dish‑washing equipment.
• Use of 3‑compartment sink for sanitizing.
• Handling of trash compactors and recycling processes.
