Container Control Officer – Fixed Term (6 months)

About the role

The Container Control Officer will ensure the efficient movement of containers in and out of the Lautoka depot for a six‑month fixed‑term contract. Working closely with the Depot Supervisor, you will handle administrative tasks, inventory control, and customer coordination to support Neptune Pacific’s shipping operations.

Key responsibilities

• Record all equipment and supplies received and enter them into the depot container control system within 24 hours.
• Manage depot inventory, conduct yard stocktakes and reconcile physical counts with system data.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly stock and movement reports to principals.
• Plan and coordinate container bookings, providing timely feedback to customers on export pickups.
• Ensure compliance with depot safety protocols and OHS requirements; conduct safety audits using Enablon.
• Run daily toolbox meetings, record minutes and follow up on action items.
• Handle workshop material requisitions, follow up on supplier invoices and process payments.
• Produce daily reports on bookings versus yard stock and manage Fiji Water pickup schedules.
• Support additional duties assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business or Office Administration.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar logistics or yard‑management role.
• Experience with yard management systems and container handling procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
