Electrical Technician

About the role

British American Tobacco is seeking an Electrical Technician to support safe and efficient production at its Fiji facilities. The role focuses on maintaining electrical components in machinery, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all electrical safety procedures, including LOTOTO, risk assessments and regulatory compliance.
• Identify, report and eliminate hazards, unsafe behaviours and near‑misses.
• Maintain clean, audit‑ready electrical work areas, panels, tools and equipment.
• Perform fault‑finding, diagnose electrical and control‑system issues, and restore equipment quickly to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with mechanical technicians and operators to safely resolve breakdowns.
• Document faults, corrective actions and recommendations for long‑term reliability.
• Lead or support improvement projects such as automation upgrades and equipment modifications.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support during start‑ups, changeovers and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to electrical safety and regulatory standards.
• Ability to work 95% of the time on the production floor and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and zero‑incident targets.
• Good communication skills for training operators and sharing technical knowledge.
