Environmental & Social Specialist

About the role

SHELADIA Associates is seeking an experienced Environmental & Social Specialist to ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards across multiple transportation infrastructure projects. The role involves monitoring implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans, engaging stakeholders, and overseeing grievance mechanisms throughout construction phases.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor implementation of environmental and social safeguards and ESMPs.
• Conduct on‑site environmental and social compliance inspections.
• Support stakeholder consultations and community engagement activities.
• Oversee grievance redress mechanisms and ensure timely resolution.
• Track labour management, gender, and social inclusion measures.
• Prepare regular environmental and social monitoring reports.
• Ensure adherence to applicable environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Social Science or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in environmental and/or social safeguard monitoring on construction projects.
• Proven experience working with local communities and vulnerable groups.
• Strong reporting and stakeholder engagement abilities.
