Localisation Coordinator, Fiji Program Support Platform

About the role

The Fiji Program Support Platform (FPSP), a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade investment, delivers bilateral programs in health, education, scholarships, social infrastructure, governance, climate and emergency preparedness, and promotes GEDSI and climate action. The Localisation Coordinator sits in the Cross Cutting Priorities (CCP) Hub of the Platform Management Unit in Suva, supporting the Hub Lead in implementing the FPSP's Locally-Led and centred Development (LLD) Framework and strategy. The position is long term from November until 31 December 2027, with a potential 2-year extension, and is reserved for Fiji nationals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of localisation priorities across sector programs with the CCP Lead
• Integrate localisation into planning, design and delivery with sector teams
• Link localisation with other cross-cutting priorities (GEDSI, climate, safeguarding)
• Develop and maintain systems to track localisation efforts and collect data for Annual Work Plans and progress reports
• Engage government, civil society and private sector actors in program activities
• Provide administrative, logistical and coordination support during periods of high volume
• Support learning and adaptation processes, and share good practice and case studies
• Contribute to communities of practice and other duties requested by the Hub Lead

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in international development, public policy, social sciences or a related field
• 3-5 years of development experience in roles delivering locally led development strategies
• Knowledge of and commitment to GEDSI principles
• Experience in program implementation, coordination, monitoring, reporting and data management
• Experience producing program documentation or communications with a cross-cutting lens
• Ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and reflect on power dynamics with diverse stakeholders
