Vuvale Community Grants Program Manager (APLP)

About the role

The Australia Pacific Leaders Program (APLP) is recruiting a Grants Program Manager for the Vuvale Community Grants program, which funds small-scale, locally led activities supporting practical and sustainable development in Fiji. The role provides administrative and coordination support to the Suva Post across the 2026-27 grant round and early implementation of successful activities. It is a locally engaged, part-time position of 3 days per week starting December 2026, based in Suva, with a contract until 30 June 2027. Candidates must have the right to live and work in Fiji; relocation and international employment benefits do not apply.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Vuvale Community Grants program in SmartyGrants, handle the grants mailbox and applicant enquiries, and follow up with applicants and community members
• Support assessment of applications, due diligence and recommendations for the High Commission's grants committee, ensuring compliance with the DFAT Community Grants Program Guidance 2026-27
• Prepare grant agreements and supporting documentation, and track payments, spending and outstanding actions
• Support grant recipients with reporting, monitor delivery, expenditure and risks, and raise issues with the High Commission team
• Maintain accurate grant records, support reporting and acquittal processes, and comply with conduct, privacy, record keeping, fraud control and safeguarding requirements

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification (international development, business, management, etc.)
• Experience in grants administration, program coordination, community development or a similar role
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision
• Good written and verbal English

Required skills

• Experience reviewing applications, financial information or supporting documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Fiji's community context and experience with SmartyGrants or similar systems is an advantage
