Regional Skills Strengthening and Industry Engagement Lead

About the role

The Regional Skills Strengthening and Industry Engagement Lead will provide strategic leadership to enhance training and skills development systems across the Pacific and Timor‑Leste. Based in Suva, Fiji, the role focuses on building capacity of training providers, qualifications authorities and other skills sector stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of skills systems strengthening initiatives aligned with national priorities and labour market needs.
• Develop and manage partnerships with regional organisations, governments, industry bodies, employers, training providers and development partners.
• Facilitate evidence‑based policy reforms and system improvements to improve the quality and relevance of training.
• Coordinate with country teams to ensure alignment of programmes with local economic and workforce development outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of industry engagement activities and report findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading skills development, training or capacity‑building programmes in a multi‑country or regional context.
• Strong understanding of labour market dynamics and the relationship between training providers and industry.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership‑building abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with governments, NGOs, private sector and international donors.
