Airfreight Assistant

Key responsibilities

• Witness packing of air freight cargo at the customer's site.
• Verify and approve documentation for processing and coordinate airline bookings.
• Screen cargo according to CAAF requirements and deliver to airline at the airport.
• Liaise with bio‑security and customs (CAAF/ATS) to obtain cargo approvals.
• Analyze work orders to determine specific logistic requirements.
• Coordinate with Equipment and Customer Service to ensure timely logistics support.
• Perform follow‑up and tracking to determine cargo status.
• Address airfreight and procurement issues such as delays and inaccuracies.
• Manage freight consolidation, cost analysis, routing and scheduling.
• Ensure synchronization of airfreight, warehousing and procurement activities.
• Develop and maintain contingency plans for logistic programs.
• Oversee storage, security and allocation of space for fragile and dangerous goods.

Required profile

• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work unsupervised, including early mornings, nights and weekends.
• Resourceful problem‑solver with a proactive attitude.
• Physical capability to assist with loading and unloading cargo.
• Polite, professional demeanor with cultural awareness.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite.
• ASTP certification (training provided if needed).
• Screeners certification.
• DG (dangerous goods) certificate.
• Knowledge of airfreight operations.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS).
