Rooms Guest Service Assistant – Hotel Housekeeping

About the role

The Rooms Guest Service Assistant ensures guest rooms and assigned areas are clean, comfortable, and ready for arrival. Working on a rostered stay‑on‑island schedule, you will uphold brand standards and contribute to a welcoming guest experience at the Sheraton resort.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms: replace amenities, change linens, make beds, clean bathrooms, remove trash, and restock supplies.
• Verify room vacancy before entry and follow safety and security procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of furniture, appliances, walls, and surfaces through dusting, polishing, and stain removal.
• Vacuum carpets and perform floor‑care duties in rooms and hallways.
• Inspect appliances for proper function and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Transport and keep a fully stocked housekeeping cart organized.
• Respond quickly to guest requests and assist other departments as needed.
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies; complete required training and report hazards.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel or similar environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of cleaning standards, chemicals, and equipment (training provided).
• Clear and professional communication with guests and colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lb, and push/pull housekeeping carts.
• Legal right to work in Fiji.
