Regional Finance Officer – REnew Pacific

About the role

Save the Children Australia is seeking a Regional Finance Officer for its REnew Pacific programme. The role is full‑time, fixed‑term until 30 June 2028 and will be based in one of the Pacific country offices (Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu or Fiji). You will provide financial stewardship across the region, ensuring resources are managed efficiently and risks are minimised.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project financials, including coding, budgeting, forecasting and expenditure tracking.
• Prepare and analyse BVA reports, forecasts, burn rates, variances and financial risks.
• Coordinate financial information across country offices and regional program teams.
• Deliver financial reporting, insights and presentations to internal and donor stakeholders.
• Maintain financial controls, compliance, audit readiness and adherence to DFAT and organisational requirements.
• Build team capability through financial guidance, reporting tools, templates and budgeting support.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience managing project, grant or donor‑funded finances, ideally in the Pacific.
• Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, reconciliations and reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or other accounting systems.
