Technical Consultant for Child‑Friendly Service Spaces (Remote with travel)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a qualified technical consultant to support the design and implementation of child‑friendly service hubs in Fiji (and Samoa). The role involves facility assessments, stakeholder consultations, preparation of construction documentation, and advising on implementation modalities for rehabilitation projects in hospitals, police stations, community spaces, and schools.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct infrastructure assessments of child‑friendly service spaces.
• Facilitate community and stakeholder consultations.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Develop construction‑related documentation and advise on implementation modalities.
• Support rehabilitation of spaces in hospitals, police stations, community centres, and schools.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure assessment, design, or construction supervision.
• Experience with child‑friendly or community spaces and public buildings.
• Demonstrated experience conducting community consultations.
• Commitment to UNICEF safeguarding and PSEA standards.
• Fluent English.
