Plumber – Island Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

The Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing all plumbing systems and fixtures across the island property. This role ensures reliable water supply, drainage and sanitation while supporting guest comfort and operational continuity on a rostered stay‑on‑island schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair leaks, clogged drains and faulty fixtures to keep operations uninterrupted.
• Install and maintain pipe systems, fittings, valves and fixtures such as sinks, toilets and appliances.
• Conduct pressure tests and inspections to identify leaks and verify system functionality.
• Interpret blueprints and building codes to plan accurate installations.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and routine inspections to extend asset lifespan.
• Support minor mechanical, electrical and facility repairs as needed.
• Manage inventory of plumbing materials and tools to ensure availability.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other departments during repairs, upgrades and projects.
• Adhere to safety procedures, report hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and assist in emergency situations.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, installation methods and repair techniques.
• Effective problem‑solving skills to identify issues quickly and implement solutions.
• Ability to work on a rostered, island‑based schedule and adapt to guest‑service demands.
• Clear communication skills for interaction with guests, team members and supervisors.
