Air Condition & Refrigeration Technician

About the role

The Air Condition & Refrigeration Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems across the property, ensuring guest comfort and safe hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain and repair air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and cooling systems throughout the hotel.
• Conduct routine inspections, diagnose faults, repair refrigerant leaks and mechanical failures, and perform preventive maintenance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, manage spare parts inventory and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Coordinate with engineering and other departments to minimise disruption and support emergency repairs.

Required profile

• Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or related trade.
• Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining HVAC and refrigeration systems, preferably in hospitality or commercial settings.
• Working rights in Fiji and ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, chillers, cold rooms, compressors and ventilation systems.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings, schematics and maintenance documentation.
• Proficiency in using tools, testing equipment and maintenance machinery safely.
