Carpenter

About the role

The Carpenter will join the Engineering Department at a Marriott resort on Denarau Island, delivering high‑quality carpentry, maintenance and repair work across the property. The role ensures that guest areas, back‑of‑house spaces and facilities remain safe, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain doors, furniture, cabinetry, walls, partitions and other wooden fixtures.
• Perform drywall repairs, framing, laminate installation, wallpaper, molding and finishing work.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks such as wall patching, light‑bulb replacement and fitting repairs.
• Respond promptly to work orders, manage inventory of materials and tools, and support preventive‑maintenance projects.
• Maintain positive guest and associate relationships while minimizing operational disruptions.
• Follow safety, security and maintenance procedures, reporting hazards and equipment issues.

Required profile

• Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Building Construction or a related trade.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in carpentry, construction or building maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Legal right to work in Fiji.
