Director of People & Culture

About the role

LAUCALA is looking for an experienced, values‑driven Director of People & Culture to shape the employee experience on its private island resort in Fiji. This senior leader will align people strategy with business goals, foster an inclusive high‑performing culture, and support the company’s transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the People & Culture strategy in line with business objectives.
• Build and sustain an engaged, inclusive, high‑performance workplace.
• Oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
• Manage succession planning, training, wellbeing, and recognition programmes.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
• Advise senior leadership on all people‑related matters.
• Lead workforce planning to meet operational needs.
• Design and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives.
• Lead and develop the People & Culture team.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
• Proven senior People & Culture experience in luxury hospitality.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Sound commercial judgement, integrity, and discretion.
• Ability to live and work successfully in a remote private‑island environment.
