Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads the entire Rooms Division of a Marriott‑affiliated hotel in Denarau Island, Nadi, Fiji. Reporting to property leadership, this senior manager is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving operational excellence and financial performance across Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Concierge, Bell Services, Recreation and related areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all Rooms Division operations, ensuring alignment with Marriott brand standards and business objectives.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, monitor occupancy, room inventory, arrivals, departures and service delivery standards.
• Drive operational efficiencies, productivity and guest satisfaction while collaborating with Engineering, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing and other departments.
• Champion brand standards through regular inspections, audits and corrective action plans, preparing the property for brand and quality reviews.
• Manage the Rooms Division budget, forecasts, operating expenses and business plans, optimizing profitability through revenue management and cost control.
• Foster employee engagement, training and development to maintain high service quality and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a hotel Rooms Division or equivalent hospitality operation.
• Strong understanding of Marriott (or comparable) brand standards and guest service expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategies that improve efficiency and financial results.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams such as Engineering, F&B, Sales & Marketing.
• Financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting and revenue management.
