Heavy Diesel Plant Manager – Fiji

About the role

This senior position leads a team of 26 technicians in a heavy‑diesel plant supporting civil construction, quarrying and transport fleets in Fiji. It combines hands‑on mechanical work with people‑leadership and prepares the incumbent for eventual promotion to Plant Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise and develop a team of tradesmen, providing technical guidance and structure.
• Perform advanced mechanical repairs on civil‑construction equipment, quarrying machinery and transport fleet assets.
• Ensure plant availability to meet production targets and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with the Senior Plant Manager to plan a seamless succession.
• Maintain safety, quality and documentation standards on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Heavy‑diesel or plant‑mechanic trade qualification.
• Extensive experience in civil construction, quarrying or heavy‑fleet operations.
• Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams.
• Long‑term commitment to relocate to Fiji.
• Strong sense of urgency and organisational skills for time‑critical repairs.
