Human Resources Manager (Island Based)

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead the HR function for a remote island resort, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and align with Marriott standards. This position partners with department leaders to deliver HR services that support business goals, enhance employee engagement, and maintain compliance with all applicable labor laws.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and talent acquisition across all departments, developing strategies suited to a remote island environment and managing local and overseas hiring processes.
• Design, implement, and coordinate training, onboarding, and development programs, promoting Marriott learning platforms and cross‑training initiatives.
• Foster a positive work environment by handling employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflicts.
• Administer benefits, performance management, and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to labor regulations and company policies.
• Support leadership with people‑related matters, talent development, and workforce planning to attract, retain, and develop a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HR operations in hospitality or resort settings.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws, immigration, visa, and expatriate onboarding processes.
• Ability to build relationships with educational institutions, recruitment agencies, and community organizations.
• Excellent communication skills to promote inclusion, teamwork, and open dialogue.
