Senior Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Senior Human Resources Officer will lead day‑to‑day HR operations at Port Denarau Marina, supporting a dynamic marina environment and ensuring compliance with local employment legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement HR policies, manage recruitment, onboarding and maintain accurate employee records.
• Develop and update job descriptions, coordinate performance management and support workforce planning aligned with marina operations.
• Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary processes and staff engagement initiatives.
• Advise managers on HR best practices, coordinate training and development, and support health and safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven senior HR experience, preferably in hospitality, tourism, marine or related service industries.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with ability to work across diverse teams.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving abilities and capacity to handle confidential information responsibly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems.
• Competence in standard office software and familiarity with HR metrics and reporting.
