Intern - Programme Support

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Suva, Fiji, is seeking a motivated intern to support its regional programme for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. The role offers hands‑on experience in research, analysis and programme documentation within a dynamic UN environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and compile data for analytical reports, speaking notes and background documents.
• Conduct in‑depth research on crime prevention, criminal justice, transnational organised crime and anti‑corruption topics.
• Prepare and format presentation decks, talking points and speeches for senior staff.
• Develop briefing materials and documentation for meetings with UN agencies and other stakeholders.
• Assist the Head of Office with routine administrative tasks related to programme delivery.

Required profile

• Current enrolment in a university programme related to international relations, law, criminology, public policy or a similar field.
• Strong analytical and writing abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
