Kitchen Commis (Part‑time) – Marriott, Nadi, Fiji

About the role

Join Marriott International as a Kitchen Commis on a part‑time basis at our Nadi location. You will support the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, and store fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare and cook food, including cold dishes, while meeting quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Test foods for doneness and monitor temperature of appliances and food.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and clean/disinfect kitchen areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow all company safety, security, and hygiene policies and report any issues.

Required profile

• Fiji citizenship.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
• Food safety and temperature monitoring.
