About the role
The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947. SPC works across more than 25 sectors, including fisheries science, education, public health, geoscience, and conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. The Legal Officer will join the Legal and Governance Team, providing governance, legal and risk‑management support to SPC’s 27 member countries and territories.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the flow of legal requests to the Legal Team, ensuring timely and accurate handling.
- Review procurement contracts and grant agreements to safeguard SPC’s interests.
- Provide legal and risk‑management advice to internal clients across the organisation’s programmes.
- Support the improvement of systems, policies and management processes to enhance operational compliance and client‑oriented service delivery.
