Mechanic

About the role

The Westin on Denarau Island is seeking a dedicated Mechanic to join its facilities team. You will be responsible for keeping the property’s fleet of vehicles and equipment in safe, reliable condition, supporting the smooth operation of the resort.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on property vehicles such as trucks, vans and electric carts.
• Check oil, fluid levels, tire pressure and battery charge; replace spark plugs and other wear items as required.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of maintenance supplies and request parts when needed.
• Log daily maintenance activities, test results and equipment issues in detail.
• Identify, report and help resolve equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a similar mechanic role.
• Legal right to work in Fiji.
• Technical, trade or vocational qualification in mechanical, electrical or engineering fields.
• Physically fit and comfortable performing manual and technical tasks.
• Reliable, responsible and able to work independently while being a strong team player.

Required skills

• Mechanical knowledge of vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Understanding of safety and maintenance procedures.
• Detail‑oriented record‑keeping.
