National Assistive Technology Coordinator

About the role

The National Assistive Technology Coordinator will lead the implementation of Fiji’s Assistive Technology (AT) programme, working closely with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, education authorities, disability organisations and development partners.

Key responsibilities

• Convene and manage the Technical Working Group, coordinate meetings, documentation and action tracking.
• Develop and align the annual national AT workplan with government priorities and ATscale activities.
• Support integration of AT into health, education and social‑sector policies and ensure meaningful participation of OPDs, users and carers.
• Strengthen procurement, supply‑chain planning, data systems and service‑provider readiness for vision, hearing and rehabilitation services.
• Coordinate screening, referral, assessment, fitting and follow‑up of assistive products across schools and community settings.
• Monitor programme outputs, budgets and compliance, and prepare regular reports for government and donors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, rehabilitation sciences, disability studies, health management, education or related field (advanced degree desirable).
• Minimum five years of experience coordinating multi‑sectoral programmes in government or development settings.
• Experience in disability inclusion, rehabilitation, assistive technology procurement or health information systems is a plus.
