Project Coordinator – Essential Services Package (ESP)

About the role

The Project Coordinator, Essential Services Package (ESP) will support the Australia Fiji Health Program’s objective of improving primary health services at selected facilities. Based in Suva, the role works under the Health Standards Advisor to coordinate the ESP pilot across five primary health care sites.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of micro‑activities for the ESP pilot, monitor progress, and flag risks or resource constraints.
• Manage stakeholder engagement logistics, including consultations, technical meetings and facility visits with MHMS, WHO and development partners.
• Maintain complete, auditable project records such as meeting minutes, correspondence, assessment tools and facility data.
• Organise baseline and end‑line facility assessments, support audit teams, and coordinate patient satisfaction surveys.
• Support development and monitoring of facility‑specific improvement plans based on assessment findings.
• Oversee procurement, delivery and distribution of essential medicines, equipment and consumables.
• Coordinate minor infrastructure upgrades, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and timelines.
• Compile facility‑level data for reporting against indicators and MEL requirements, and document lessons learned.
• Represent AFHP at facility‑level and divisional engagements as delegated.

• Ability to work under technical leadership and collaborate with health ministry, WHO and development partners.
