Recreation Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and energetic Recreation Assistant to join our resort team in Nadi, Fiji. In this part-time position you will help guests enjoy a variety of leisure activities while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage, register and schedule guests for recreation activities.
• Promote a fun, relaxing atmosphere and provide information about facilities.
• Enforce safety rules and respond to emergencies according to procedures.
• Identify guests who may need assistance and notify supervisors.
• Clean, maintain and inspect recreational equipment and supplies.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to management.
• Welcome guests, answer telephone inquiries and process payments for rentals, activities and retail sales.
• Use point-of-sale and computer systems to record transactions and manage bookings.

Required profile

• Fiji citizenship.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar resort or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work part-time and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb unaided and up to 50 lb with assistance.
• Clear, professional communication skills and ability to assist guests with disabilities.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy and experience with point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to read and verify information in small print.
• Capability to inspect equipment for defects and perform routine maintenance.
